Spread out and gather information before committing:
- 2 players take Long A control (push through Long Doors)
- 1 player watches mid / throws Xbox smoke
- 1-2 players hold B tunnels for later options
- Based on info, commit to A or B execute
A Long Execute
- Smoke A Long corner to block the CT player
- Flash over for the entry fragger
- Push through Long, trade kills, plant A site
- Molotov car or short to clear positions
B Rush
- All 5 push through B tunnels together
- Flash out of tunnels for the entry
- Smoke window, molotov platform
- Plant and take post-plant positions
CT-Side Strategies
Standard Setup (2-1-2)
- 2 players A: One Long A, one Short A or site
- 1 player Mid: Watch mid doors from CT spawn or short boost
- 2 players B: One tunnels, one site/window
AWP Positions
- Mid Doors: The classic AWP angle watching T-side mid push
- Long A: Holding Long from the corner or pit
- B Platform: Watching tunnels exit
Key Tips for Dust2
- Control Mid: Mid control is everything on Dust2. The team that controls mid can rotate faster and has more options
- Smoke Xbox: T-side must smoke Xbox to safely cross mid. This is the most important smoke on the map
- Do not peek Long Doors alone: The CT AWPer at Long is looking for early picks. Use flashes or go in pairs
- CTs should not over-rotate: Dust2 is fast. A B fake into A split takes 15 seconds
- Use the Deagle on eco: Dust2 long sightlines make the Deagle devastating on eco rounds
Conclusion
Dust2 rewards players who master the fundamentals: good aim, fast rotations, and smart utility usage. It is the perfect map to learn CS2 on because it strips away complexity and focuses on core skills. Master Dust2 and you will have a solid foundation for every other competitive map.
